I was considering a vendor setup, and noticed that some posts here discuss the production and sale of (presumably) items that depict characters, symbols, etc., from the Show.

Perhaps I'm just ignorant of the standard "convention seller" goings-on, but will there be any trouble with copyright violation there?

In other words, are shirts, buttons, etc with Rainbow Dash's cutie mark or Fluttershy's cottage within Fair Use at a small temporary seller convention? That sort of thing?

What's the best way to find out?

Selling buttons and shirts are ok, just as long as you have your state business license, and as long as you aren't using the official show's vectors, you are protected by Fair Use. lets see... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fair_use
