So since MLP is a kid's show (at least... it was) and some young (and young at heart) folks will be showing up... I thought a few like minded folks would like to have a craft room for the kidlets!

I figure we could have coloring, maybe making pony ear headbands, and pin making? Or maybe just coloring for the cheapness. :]

We could also have story time.

Thoughts?

People planning on attending with young children or know of young children who will be attending with someone else should say something. So far there's only one person in that category to be mentioned in the age thread.

Heh, you can bet there will be something craft-wise around.

If Bronyfest NW taught me anything, it's that no matter the age, there will be people that enjoy coloring.

yet no one above the age of 7 will draw in the lines :3
Ah, fun stuff like this makes me wonder how I can create a clone of myself to handle the con stuff thrown at me while I go play. I mean, why send the clone when I can send myself right?
We may need to get a few more spare books by then [or maybe I'm just crazy and want my own XD], anyone know or have a link to a site with lots of pony related coloring books available to purchase?

actually, the more cost-effective route would be to get the blank files off the hub's website and get copies made at costco, or sometplace ofc the sort. That's what I always did for my coloring pages for different cons. They can even just pull the files off a flash drive. And, that way you can easily take your creation with you, no worrying about accidently tearing the picture when you tear it out.

Yeah using the books is the most expensive and difficult way. My mom (a teacher) always made laminated copies of the original pages and then photocopied from those for the kids to color from. I think just having a coloring room would be fun. It's nice to get off your feet, good for all ages, and just an easy panel/event to run!

We could even have a coloring contest!

Oh or maybe a free hand drawing coloring contest with a time limit with voting? :D EEEEEE I'M EXCITED.

I also found pony coloring books at a dollar store of some sort. Let me see... Dollar Tree, I think? Eyup, those are the same. I think there are 4-5 designs.

Well there's always really crafty things we could do. If we did make pins, someone would have to bring a pin press. Definitely something that would be fun to do. Along with that, we could make felt ponies. But instead of felt we could use construction paper and some pre-cut manes and pony bases for the younger ones.
