This year, Everfree Northwest's chosen charity is the Seattle Children's Hospital. Seattle Children's was initially founded and run by a group of philanthropic women more than 100 years ago. Their generous spirit can be seen today in the support of thousands of donors and guild members. In fiscal year 2009, we expect to provide more than $100 million in under- and uncompensated care.
Seattle Children's Hospital Foundation gathers this extraordinary community support and raises funds for Seattle Children's Hospital and Seattle Children's Research Institute. To assist with this, we at Everfree Northwest will be doing the following:
During the convention, we will have several bins to collect new, unopened toys for boys and girls to be donated to the hospital. We're pleased to announce our host hotel, the Seatac International Holiday Inn, will also have a bin that the staff will be donating toys into.
Saturday Afternoon of the convention, we will be holding a charity auction for Seattle Children's Hospital's "Greatest Needs" fund. All money raised by this charity auction will be donated in full to this fund to help save the lives of kids who need it most. We're pleased that some of the talent appearing at our convention-as well as some not able to attend-are donating towards this wonderful charity auction for such a good cause.
Those wishing to donate My Little Pony-related items are encuraged to email our donation lead Stephan Gauch at frosty@everfreenw.com
Some of our talent are partnering with the Travelling Pony Museum and Seattle Children's Hospital to bring Everfree Northwest to the kids at the hospital. We're planning an event where kids unable to attend due to injury or illness – but whom are still fans – can experience the convention in person at the hospital.
