Guests

It takes hundreds of people to put together a show like Friendship is Magic, and each year Everfree Northwest helps to bring together show staff with their fans. This year, we are pleased to announced the following guests will be in attendance at Everfree Northwest 2015!

M.A. Larson

Writer and Story Editor for Friendship is Magic

M.A. Larson is a film/television/book/bio writer from Los Angeles, California. He has written on a variety of series, such as Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends, Littlest Pet Shop, Sym-Bionic Titan, and Gravity Falls. His first novel, "Pennyroyal Academy," was published in October 2014, with a sequel planned for winter 2015. The film rights have been purchased by Lionsgate Films, with Reese Witherspoon producing. Larson can happily confirm what any thinking person already knows: Rarity is best pony.

So if you want to see (and possibly thank!) M.A. Larson in person, be sure to join us in Seattle May 29-31. And who knows, maybe he’ll make you a princess!

Kelly Sheridan

Starlight Glimmer

With more than 20 years of voice over experience, Kelly Sheridan has appeared in numerous animated series and features including Ukyou in Ranma ½, The Scarlet Witch in X-Men Evolution, Diana in Martin Mystery, Sango in Inuyasha, Theresa in Class of the Titans, and numerous roles in My Little Pony Tales and MLP G3. Most notably, she has worked for Mattel since 2001, playing the voice of Barbie in the majority of their feature length films. Recently she can be heard as Mystique Sonja in Hero 108, Hisako in Joss Whedon’s Astonishing X-men, Sersi in Neil Gaiman's Eternals, and Starlight Glimmer in MLP: FiM.

Jayson Thiessen and Big Jim Miller

Directors of Friendship is Magic

Jayson Thiessen was raised in western Canada and ever since 1998, he has worked in the Vancouver animation industry starting as a classical animator, then transitioning to digital Flash animation and working his way up the ranks to become a Director. In 2009 he took on the role of Supervising Director for the latest incarnation of the Hasbro series, "My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic" and applied his complete love and attention towards the show, which went on to become a runaway cult sensation around the world.

Big Jim Miller is a storyboard artist, cartoonist, director, and improviser living in Vancouver, BC, Canada. After starting as a storyboard artist on MLP, he has since moved on to storyboard supervising seasons 2 and 3 of that series, as well as the 'Equestria Girls’ direct to DVD movie. In Season 4 of MLP, Jim was promoted to co-director.

Bonnie Zacherle

Creator of the My Little Pony toy line

Before Lauren Faust and the DHX team, there was Bonnie Zacherle, the original creator of the My Little Pony toy line. Bonnie Zacherle joined Hasbro in 1980. While working as an Illustrator in Hasbro's Research and Design department, Ms. Zacherle called upon her fond childhood memories of horses and horse riding to create My Little Pony and My Pretty Pony (the precursor to the My Little Pony line). In addition to My Little Pony, Ms. Zacherle worked on the redesigned Mr. Potato Head while at Hasbro. Later, she opened a studio focusing on freelance work, design and consultation services with her friend and former Hasbro colleague, Liz Knight in a renovated barn in Massachusetts. Ms. Zacherle currently lives in Warrenton, Virginia and teaches art to children.

Ingrid Nilson

Maud Pie

Ingrid was skeptical 10 years ago when a mystic told her that her life's work would be all about her voice. Since then, she has been heard as 'Raspberry Torte' in 4 seasons of Strawberry Shortcake, as 'Maud Pie' in My Little Pony, as punk rocker 'Sloan' in an upcoming Barbie movie and more. In a career that has spanned over a decade and includes on-camera work, she has had the pleasure of appearing with some of Hollywood's gems. A classically trained singer (Royal Conservatory of Music), actor (UBC Honors Degree in Theatre) and dancer, Ingrid was raised on The Sound of Music and old school musicals. She lives in Vancouver, BC where you can find her teaching yoga and meditation, biking around town, and promoting positive body image in schools with non-profit Project True.

Lee Tockar

Steven Magnet and Snips

Please put your hooves together for Lee Tockar, who makes his return to Everfree Northwest! To us pony people, Lee is certainly best known for his roles as the mischievous Snips and the sorrowful sea serpent, Steven Magnet. Did you also know he was Spot, the diamond dog? In addition to Friendship is Magic, Lee has lent his voice to several of DHX’s other series, such as Littlest Pet Shop and George of the Jungle, the latter earning him the 2008 Electronic Animation Award for Best Male Voice Artist. So everypony, please give a warm welcome back to the one and only, the simply marvelous Lee Tockar!

John de Lancie

Discord

Mr. John de Lancie will be joining us at Everfree Northwest 2015! In addition to the living embodiment of Chaos, John is perhaps best known for his role as the omnipotent trickster, Q from Star Trek, having played the role on The Next Generation, Deep Space Nine, and Voyager. His accomplishments are hardly found in the Final Frontier, having lent his talents to the Assassin’s Creed games, major roles in the Dr. Who spinoff Torchwood and the acclaimed Stargate: SG-1, as well as spearheading the Bronies Documentary from 2012, in which John is both host and Executive Producer.

Nicole Oliver

Princess Celestia and Cheerilee

Nicole Oliver is returning to Everfree Northwest! You probably know her as the voice of Princess Celestia and Cheerilee, but she has long career in both animation and on-screen acting. Her voice-over work in animation has spanned hundreds of characters, including roles in Ranma ½, Inuyasha, and Martha Speaks, or you may have seen her on-screen in shows such as Seed and Pysch. In addition to her roles in My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, you're likely to recognize Nicole Oliver as the voice of Zoe Trent from Littlest Pet Shop.

Tabitha St. Germain

Rarity and Princess Luna

Tabitha St. Germain, started her acting career at the age of 0.9, when an improbable collision of cells resulted in a clotsome little singularity that squeaked.

Radiation from the planet Ninc1, or 'ninny rays,' followed, giving us the Tabitha St. Germain of today, who is capable of being almost anything that doesn't involve math or common sense, for a union-approved fee. The T. St. G. singularity worked at the Keg Steakhouse in Halifax as an (appalling) hostess for about a month in the eighties and then took the next logical step and joined the theatre. She was the lead singer of the wildly forgettable band 'Mystery Diarrhea', who released many things, none of which was an album.

Asking personal questions will usually only bring forth a string of tatty fabrications from this monkey. "I'm not lying," she has said, "I'm ACTING." This is because, while she does have a rich inner life, her outer life is pretty much divided between mucking about in gardens and making noise.

She was hatched, not born, vaguely recalling siblings twittering about in a wasteland of cracked shells. It is possible that she ate them. She amuses herself by setting all the egg timers in Ikea to five minutes, and leaving.
