In this panel, we'll discuss how to make a believable world, as well as how to take an existing one and make it your own. Everfree Northwest is excited to announce our My Little Pony Cosplay Contest for this summer convention! The lights will be bright, the crowd pumped up, and the beats dropped: all we need is YOU to strut your stuff in your best pony costume!
For 2013, Everfree Northwest is proud to be the literary hub of the pony convention circuit! Come and join our all-star cast of fan authors, editors, and pre-readers and share in the magic of the written word. What better way to celebrate the high-quality writing of Friendship is Magic than with an in-depth study of how to make your writing the best that it can be?
Everfree Northwest has over a dozen various panels and events all related to writing, authors, and fanfiction at this year’s convention. Every year, our writing track lead Silver Quill assembles a suite of fan panelists to talk about plot, character development, setting, literary merit, and advanced literary techniques to help turn your stories into art. Fancy yourself a writer? Then come participate in our two-part Iron Author competition and see if you've got what it takes to turn out two thousand words in two hours! We've also got experts to talk about what it takes to hit the FIMFiction Feature Box, and a bank of pre-readers from Equestria Daily to talk about what they're looking for in a good story. Come and see an early screening of the MLP Fan Fiction Documentary, followed by a Q&A where you can provide direct feedback on the project. Or if you just want to hang out with your favorite fan fiction authors, join us for the authors and fans chill out event and relax with your favorite wordsmiths.
Announce the return of two of our most popular panels from last year, “Dear Princess Celestia/Luna” and “Whose Line is it Anypony.”
Our dearest Princess Celestia and Princess Luna, played by Smare and Lucia, will be back to read aloud a selection of “friendship reports” submitted by the pony community featuring stories of life, laughter, and the hardships we overcome. If you are looking for life encouragement, or to hear firsthand the effect ponies have played in somepony’s life, “Dear Princess” is a very powerful and moving panel we recommend highly. If you wish to submit your own stories, please send them to DearPrincessCelestia.Luna@gmail.com. Join us in community and friendship as we share our stories with one another. Please note that this panel will have a no video policy.
If you’re looking for some lighthearted antics worthy of Pinkie Pie, then make sure not to miss the improvisational hijinks of “Whose Line,” where audience members will participate in pony-related quickfire improv games such as “questions only,” “scenes from a hat,” and “two-liners,” to name but a few. The laughs will be plentiful and who knows, you may be the next star of EFNW at this fun panel!
The Everfree Northwest PMV contest is back and it's better than ever! This year will have not one, but two PMV categories. That's right ponies, this year we're doubling up on the categories! That means double the prizes, double the videos, and double the fun!
The first category and the returning champion is the Pony Music Video! Mix some music with some Friendship is Magic and serve; need I say more? Joining the music video this year is our second category, the non-music Pony Movie Video! Take non-music audio from your favorite source or make your own, and just add some pony! Mash several clips together, do an extended segment, the choice is yours!
The contest is simple; simply submit a PMV published after Febuary 3rd to Everfree Northwest's contest email, pmvcontest@everfreenw.com, via download link or YouTube link. This year's cut-off deadline is June 16th. Submissions will be played during an event in the Crystal Ballroom, followed by a panel announcing our winners. Prizes will be awarded to the best PMVs of the bunch!
Remember to keep it convention friendly, but aside that, go nuts! Let your creativity and imagination run wild. Create the next great music video, or an awesome comedy sketch. Maybe you should ponify a new movie trailer, or try having our favorite multi-colored equines dance to a funky beat. The choice is yours!
Be sure to read up on the official contest rules. If you have any questions, need clarification, want to make sure your PMV is adhering to content guidelines, or anything else relating to the PMV contest, please email us at Everfree Northwest at pmvcontest@everfreenw.com
You stayed up late playing on the pony creator, you lost sleep trying to choose the perfect cutie mark, and you changed your mane color at least 4 different times. But finally you have done it. You have created the perfect OC or ponysona! Now you just need a quality drawing so that you can show the world your creativity! And Everfree Northwest has two panels to help you do just that.
Our friends from r/mlpdrawingschool will be holding a workshop panel teaching you how to draw ponies, with multiple artists providing personalized feedback and instruction. By the end of the panel you will have your very own pony drawn with your own two hooves.
However, if drawing isn't your forte, you're still in luck! There will also be a panel titled "How to Commission" where you can learn how to find a pony artist, the process of requesting a commission, and how to resolve issues should they arise. So bring your beautiful red and black alicorn OC to Everfree Northwest and learn how to draw or commission so you can post it all over the internet.
Everfree Northwest strives to provide the best possible convention experience for fans of My Little Pony. Guests, games, concerts, panels, costumes, crafts...we try to make sure there is something everypony will enjoy. However, we are also aware that not everyone in attendance is a fan of the show (yet!) and are at the convention to be with their child or loved one. And Everfree Northwest would like to make sure that there is something for those people too.
To this point, our events team is pleased to announce a "Parents and Significant Others Roundtable" panel. We are inviting all of the "+1s" who are at the convention because of a child/friend/spouse/other special someone, but not actively involved in the fandom, to come hang out together for an hour. Three of our everfree staff members will provide a short 10 minute introduction to My Little Pony as well as the pony-fandom, and then will open up the floor for all of your questions and discussions to better understand the pony fan in your life as well as to meet other people in a similar situation.
