The Work Must Be Original: You must be the creator of the art that you submit to the competition. Your art must be your own original concept and not a copy of anyone else’s copyrighted material. (If your image infringes upon another’s copyright it will be disqualified.) Upon submitting your work, to this competition, you are solely responsible for any infringement on copyrighted materials.
DO: Incorporate iconic imagery for the Pacific Northwest or Seattle. Examples include: Stormy/rainy weather, coffee, evergreen trees, Mt. Rainier, etc.
DO NOT: Use the Space Needle in your artwork (it is copyrighted)
DO NOT: Use any OC other than the EFNW characters unless you have created it yourself or you have been granted explicit permission to use it in this context.
DO NOT: Use any official or copyrighted characters. (This includes “Mane six” characters and all other characters from the show, past or present.)
Note: OCs are only permissible if they are generic, have NO cutie mark (blank flank) and do not detract from the focus of the artwork.
Repeat Entries: There is no restriction on entering art that has been entered to previous competitions.
Copyright: Contest entrants will retain copyright of all submitted work but grant Everfree Northwest unlimited and indefinite permission to display submitted images on/in Everfree Northwest’s exhibits, website, print collateral, display images, and/or any additional event promotional materials.
Non-exclusive Permissions: By entering this art competition, you are granting us a non-exclusive perpetual license to reproduce images of your artwork on our website, in our print media, newsletters, exhibits, website, print collateral, display images, and/or any additional event promotional materials, in the marketing of future art competitions to the general public. All winning entries will be published in the Everfree Northwest 2015 Convention Book. Each entry may be featured for historical / archival purposes. Any present or future requests for removal will be denied.
File Sizes and Formats: Dimensions: Tabloid Size (11″ x 17″) with a minimum of 300 dpi OR vectors. Portrait orientation only (No landscape). Be sure that the most important design elements fit within the borders of the provided template.
The Entry Process:
Step 1. Have your files ready to upload before you start the submission process. Go to https://everfreenw.com/events/art-contest/ and click the “Submit Your Art” button.
Step 2. In the “Upload file” section, press the browse button to select your artwork file.
Step 3. In the form fill out the information about the artwork you are submitting.
You will receive a confirmation email. If you do not, please contact us so we may check on your submission.

Judging Criteria:
Does the submitted artwork feature at least one of the EFNW characters?
Does the artwork fit within the provided template and is the quality high enough for print?
Is there a creative depiction of the Pacific Northwest?
Is the originality of the work interesting?
Is there overall quality and command of the medium being used?
Does the work impact the viewer in relationship to the theme?
The composition and design of the work is also a judging criterion.
Original Work: We reserve the right to request proof that your entry is your original artwork created solely by you. Non-compliance to this rule will be a disqualification of your entry.
Multiple Submission: Multiple submissions are permitted, however, each artist is limited to one only prize payment. Top three prizes will be distributed to different artists.
Submission Deadlines: Artworks may be submitted up until midnight Pacific Time on the last day of the submission schedule posted. No artworks will be accepted past the posted deadline.
Prize Payments: The top three winning artists will receive 50% of the profits gained by the sale of their prints at Everfree Northwest 2015 and a complimentary EFNW standard three-day pass for you or a friend. Business details and payee information will be determined after the winners are announced. 50% profit split will be paid two weeks after the convention end date on June 15th, 2015. Failure to respond in no less than five contact attempts will result in a forfeiture of monetary compensation.
Other Prizes: The Grand Prize winner will have their art featured in the Everfree Northwest 2015 Con Book and, in addition to the above, will receive a $100 Amazon Gift Card. Top three winners will have prints of their work sold at Everfree Northwest 2015. All winning contestants will have their art featured in the Everfree Northwest 2015 Con Book.
